Research published by the BMJ has shown that diets high in plant protein are associated with a lower risk of death from any cause. Scientists reviewed data from a period of 32 years, involving 113,039 deaths among 715,128 participants. Consumption of plant protein was associated with an 8% lower risk of all-cause mortality, and a 12% lower risk of death from heart disease. They conclude that their findings strongly support increasing consumption of plant proteins.
